Everyone, I'm sure some of you have read about the 4 teenagers who jumped into the canal and one of the girls drowned. Well, as it turns out, the girl, Debra, is the daughter of one of the servers, Phoebe of Support Ministry. There's a memorial service tonight over at their place. Let's offer up a prayer of peace and love for those who are directly affected by this incident.

Believing for BreakThrus
Don't Stop Believing!

Have you been praying about a situation in your life and found yourself waiting for a breakthrough? Are you wondering why the answer hasn’t come yet? Do you feel as though victory is passing you by? Sometimes when we pray long and hard about a situation in our life without receiving any answers, we just learn to live with it. We go on about our business, wondering if or when God will send the answer.
But God does hear those prayers, and He’s working out the answers even though we may not know all the details. Our situation can change suddenly—quickly without warning! But one thing is certain: Before God moves suddenly, we will wait. Waiting for answers is a fact of life—nobody gets out of it. So the question is not if we’ll wait, but rather how we’ll wait. And I believe how will determine how long. There are two ways to wait: One is to wait passively, and the other is to wait expectantly. A passive person hopes something good will happen and is willing to sit around waiting to see if it does. After a short time, he gives up, saying, “That’s it! I’ve waited and waited and nothing’s happened.” The passive person has a lot of wishbone but not much backbone! The expectant person, on the other hand, is hopeful, believing the answer is just around the corner, due to arrive any minute.
His belief is not a passive thing. His heart is full of hope, expecting his problem to be solved at any moment. He wakes up every morning expecting to find his answer. He may wait and wait, but suddenly what he’s been waiting for happens.
It’s just like when a woman is pregnant; it’s said that she is expecting a baby. She carries inside her the promise of a baby, and even though she can’t see it, she knows it’s there. The moment she learns of her pregnancy, she begins to plan for her baby’s arrival. She starts collecting items she’ll need and busily gets the nursery ready. She actively prepares for the arrival of the baby because she knows the promise will be fulfilled—it’s just a matter of time. She is expectant and she’ll wait as long as it takes.
We know the word wait means “to expect” or “to look for.” But remember, it also means “to serve”—just like a waiter waits on your table at a restaurant. Our act of waiting isn’t supposed to be spent sitting around passively hoping that something will happen sometime soon. Once we’ve asked God to answer a question or solve a problem, we need to be eagerly awaiting His answer. We need to be serving actively, aggressively and expectantly. When our hearts are eager to hear from God, He loves to rush in suddenly with His solution. In many cases this waiting period actually serves as a time of preparation for the answer.
If God answered right away, many of us would be ill-prepared to handle His solution. Sometimes we find ourselves in such horrible messes that it’s hard to imagine waiting one more second. But we need to keep waiting on God and trusting Him with a sweet and simple faith. Then, in a way we never could’ve figured out—God moves suddenly!
In the Bible Paul and Silas knew about waiting, and they waited well. Acts 16 tells the story of how they were attacked by a crowd, beaten and thrown in jail. Verse 24 says the jailer…put them into the inner prison (the dungeon) and fastened their feet in the stocks. He was making sure they couldn’t escape. But about midnight, God showed up. Now it would have been nice if He’d come a little earlier, but Paul and Silas didn’t seem to mind—they just decided to start singing and began to worship the Lord. They began to wait on God. Verses 25 & 26 say, But about midnight, as Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns of praise to God, and the [other] prisoners were listening to them, suddenly there was a great earthquake, so that the very foundations of the prison were shaken; and at once all the doors were opened and everyone’s shackles were unfastened. God answered them suddenly!
When people patiently and expectantly wait on God in the midst of horrible circumstances, suddenly God breaks through. So don’t give up! Don’t stop believing! Stay full of hope and expectation. God’s power is limitless, and He’ll break through for you.

22 April 07 - 300 youths turned up to volunteer help to about 200 elderly to do their grocery shopping today. Each elderly was given a $30NTUC voucher and the volunteers were required to help the elderly keep within this budget. The shopping was done at Pasir Panjang NTUC.

After the shopping, volunteers and elders had lunch together at the civil servants club in Bukit Batok.

My first taste of volunteering for community projects after doing some minor ones during my schooling days.
My first taste of volunteering for community projects after doing some minor ones during my schooling days.I must admit it was very difficult waking up at 6am on a Sun morning. In fact thoughts of totally flying aeroplane crossed my mind so many times.. but am glad I did not cos it provided me with such a rewarding experience.
Initially I thought, what can we buy with jus $30 bucks.. But I must say I was surprised that it was sufficient if we were prudent.
All in all I had great Fun..

I came across this wonderful article while looking thru crosswalk... Jeremiah 29:10-14.
God is Good..ALL the Time...
10This is what the Lord says: "When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my gracious promise to bring you back to this place. 11For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14I will be found by you," declares the Lord, "and will bring you back from captivity."
Here are the encouraging truths I found in these verses:
• Trials eventually come to an end, and God can be absolutely counted upon to fulfill His promises (verse 10).
• God is still thinking about us, even when we're feeling lonely in our trials (verse 11). He is listening to our heartfelt prayers (verse 12).
• The only thoughts that God has toward us are thoughts of peace that include a future that is hopeful and good (verse 11).
• God allows our trials to come because they are necessary to accomplish His purpose in our lives (verse 11).
• God's purpose is that we would seek Him (verse 13).
• God allows Himself to be found when we search for Him with all our heart. He purposes to ultimately bring about our restoration (verses 13-14).

Uncommon one.
Today's message coming from Pastor Lian truly spoke to me. Not only from a single angle but from a whole bunch of perspectives on my own life I needed more insight on. Interestingly enough, I'm caught between critical crossroads in my life right now.
Most importantly the heart of the message today points towards the fact that we ARE an uncommon kind. Different, set apart and graced for many a big thing. How is it possible for me, young and relatively inexperienced to take on a world so huge; only one answer really. Jesus has made me uncommon and through Him will I perform many a big thing for His glory. Like what God has done through Moses at his weakest moment; so will I, take on the red seas in my life, through Jesus.
I am uncommon.
Amen. :D

Cherie's Friend Clara
hmm,
Cherie intro me to her friend some sundays ago..
she is our age and does one on one tuition for some ten years already... I spoke with her at length before service about biz ideas and about group tuition (some ideas I already shared with Merv)...
today she just msn me and told me thanks for the ideas, she has taken them on. now currently renting a place and did the place up for her students to come group tuition... looks like she is starting to move from personal to biz positioning... so exiting and cool, when you know your ideas made a diff (however small) to another...
Hmm,I see possiblities between Merv and tis lady ( Clara) ..... I mean biz possiblities la.. keke..
This coming thursday she will be joining us guys for supper after bible studies... please come come...

JB food trip
Many of you would have heard Daniel relate the story of how he, niq, me, jason n one of jason's friend went to JB for dinner and had 1 of the most yummilicious meals ever.
As proof that we haven't been exaggerating, here are the pics.

While waiting for our main course to arrive, we had 2 plates of chee cheong fun and orh luak. 
Take note of the huge glasses of sugarcane juice we had. 
A closer look.
We had 2 plates of sotong, mussels, chili crabs, stingray, kangkong, frog's legs and some other stuff I don't remember. What you see in the pic is not all. These were taken after we ate some dishes and remembered we had to take pics. Empty dishes have already been cleared.
To this day, I'm still being blamed for ordering every single variety of seafood the stall had (cannot blame me what..the food looks so good).
The best thing about all that food was the price. A grand total of S$17 per pax!!!!!
Try beating that.
